is a flash needed ; I can NOT even see my picture subjects...too dark

Having a hard time/there is NO flash, nor does it look like I need one. Is it possible that this is an outdoor camera. I have never seen such. I can NOT get a photo light enough to view, if the photo is taken indoors. can you help, I'm talking about the elura 80!

thanks,
john

Camcorders don't use flash, they use video lights (which I'm betting is what you mean), and the Elura is one camera that can benefit from a video light in low light settings as it's "lux" rating isn't all that great. It comes with a shoe for holding that light, and I recommend a good lcd light which uses little power for a bright illumination of your subject. There's some pretty good ones out there for a lower price.

And if you really are referring to a flash for the still feature of your video camera, well, the only Canon's I know of that has that is the Optura line.
