live in the rain forest? learn how to store video cameras!
( - 8/25/05)Excellent 2nd camera on many, many shoots and documentaries. Solid, reliable, great with a Beachtek audio adapter, a pro mic and the wide angle adapter, too. Easy to match the GL-2 footage with 2/3" CCD camcorder footage in post. Optics, 20X optical zoom and optical image stabilization was best in class in '03, and still is in '05! It is easy to obtain great low level light footage, comparable with the VX2100, etc., with a little care to manual settings and custom WB.
For those who live in humid environments- try a Pelican case and reuseable Silica Gel packs. Always amazed that amateurs expect a pro-level camera for a prosumer price to ALSO fend for itself despite improper care, then whine when it can't!
