Which cable for MA300?

I bought an MA300 adapter and a Azden SMG1X mic but am confused about a cable. I bought XLR male to 1/8male, should it be XLR male to XLR female, mic to MA300? If it's mic to camera what's the MA300 for other than to hold the mic?

I'm pretty sure you need a Male to Female, and the adapter is only needed for camcorders without XLR inputs that basically allows the mic to still be plugged in. Since your camcorder has the XLR inputs I'm pretty sure you don't need the adapter. Hope this helps.

Thanks Aditya. Right about the GL2's XLR input but I have the MA300 to plug in 2nd mike. Find I need XLRM XLRF.
