Downloading HV20 Clips to an Older Mac

I have a Canon HV20 and a G4 iMac running OX 10.3.9 with iMovie 3.0.3. With the camcorder connected via firewire and with all appropriate settings, iMovie does not "see" the camcorder so I can't import movies.

Any suggestions? Could it be because the Mac and/or iMovie version are dated? Or maybe I'm not doing something right.

Appreciate all suggestions

It might be a good idea to try upgrading your iMovie. I'm not sure if 3.0.3 is old or not, but it's possible that it does not recognize the HV20's format, while I'm pretty sure the most recent iMovie version does.

Camera is right. You may need to upgrade your iMovie in order to see it. Try iMovie 06. the OS should be fine. But your older version of iMovie may not see it.
