Why cant my HV20 record my edited movie

Used Pinnacle 12 plus to edit my HD movie loaded from my hv20. why wont it re record the edited version back to itself?

Did you must render the edit first before attempting to record back to the HV20 through the firewire cable? Then, use your editing software's Print to Tape function. There's a few more options here.

You have to change the setting on the HV20 to do a "print to video." Go to the playback mode, choose the menu, click on "execute," and you should get a black screen ready to record. If not, make sure that the camera is using the same format as your movie, and that the computer has recognized your camera. If so, you can press record _after_ the video has started playing. It will not wait for a signal, so I add a black leader to the front of my video.
