Checked with my local Apple retailer, and their files indicate that the Canon HV20 is not supported by Mac, yet I've seen some reference in online conversations that people have had it working just fine. Tried another 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cable, with no change.

If your mac is an Intel Mac and you have OSX Leopard, it may be able to read it as both support AVCHD. Also, iMovie 06 doesn't support it. But iMovie 08 and Final Cut do.

Thanks. I have yet to purchase iMovie 09, but had the HV 20 up on a friends Mac with both iMovie 09 and Finale Cut Pro, so concluded that iMovie 06 was the problem.
