Where Can I find a camera/camcorder that is great in the dark, has great optical zoom, and if possible has a microphone input?

This camera/camcorder does not have to be in HD, but great quality nonetheless, and if possible needs to stay around the $300 range. I am planning to take this camera onto rides (not big rollercoasters, but rides like Space Mountain at Disneyland) and get great quality video that doesn't look like it's going frame-by-frame (60 FPS preferrably), microphone input, and really good nightvision. I would also like this camera to be able to fit into my pocket easily.

Matt,

While this is a great camera, you might be disappointed with the "nightvision" capabilities, especially for a ride like Space Mountain, which is almost completely in the dark. Staying under $300 and still meeting all your specifications is a tall order as well as fitting it in your pocket. You can try the DVD quality Canon DC210 DVD Camcorder, but it won't fit in your pocket easily. It does have night recording mode and is within your price range.

The TX-1 (like any small camera) has poor night shooting capabilities. Optically, you need a big sensor and a big lens for good results, which usually translates to big size, and big expense.
