Vixia HFS10 (Darrin McMillan - 4/6/09)

Well let me start by saying that I was a little suspect going from minidv/mpeg2 to the heavily compressed AVCHD format. It's built fairly well, although a little more compact then what I'm used to. Although everything does seem to function quite well with the exception of the Custom wheel at the front. When I have manual focus assigned to it, it works extremely slow. I was also concerned about the lack of an eye piece for monitoring. I tested it outside in sunny conditions and it worked very good. Anyway now onto picture quality. Once you get the auto gain freature under control this camera produces unbelivable results. Vibrant, accurate colors, sharp details, black blacks. I hooked it up through my 52" plasma and was blown away with the results. I have never seen a picture so impressive. You will need to get another bigger battery the one that it comes with is just too small. Lasts about 1hr.
