Thanks, but I did not phrase the question properly. I have iMovie '08 on all my computers, and am stuck with a Sony tape video cam with no Firewire extension--only USB. Thus, I cannot transfer my tape data to my Macintosh G5. Having spent a week fighting with this and looking for help from Apple and Sony, I have reached the conclusion that a new camcorder that doesn't depend on wire transmission but uses a card is the way to go. However, from reading other forums it seems that even the card readers sometimes have problems with connecting to Macs and iMovie. Canon seems to be the most Macintosh friendly, but not always. Thanks again for your prompt reply!
