So far, so good

I got mine at BiMart on closeout for under $200. So far it's worked well. I bought it to record 8mm movies so I could transfer them to DVD. I've done about 5 hours of transfer so far. The price I've paid is still less than having someone do it for me.
The 22x zoom is too much for handheld recording. Gotta have a tripod to use the zoom to it's extents. The features are great overall.
From the reviews, I guess I will probably get this "blackscreen" on mine at some point, then I too will be calling Canon.
