Sure. It has an iEEE 1394 (firewire) port. If your PC has firewire, it's a simple matter of connecting them and using your editing software's capture utility to capture your video to the computer I recommend Adobe Premiere Elements. Under $100 and you can edit up to 99 audio and video channels. Great software. Or, if you don't have or need editing software, there's a free utility called WinDV which captures quite easily.

If your PC doesn't have a firewire card, they're pretty cheap and a much better solution than investing in a capture card that has analog RCA and SVideo inputs. Or getting a bridge, like the one that comes with Pinnacle's Hollywood Movie Box.

Afterwhich, it's just a matter of burning to DVD with a burning utility like NERO.

We get this question alot. Not very many digital still cameras can actually be used as a webcam. This is mostly due to the lack of drivers for it. SONY does have a tutorial for using some of their models as a webcam, but my question is, with focusing issues, why would you?

Better to try getting your camcorder to perform that function.

So, in the end there may be a way, but it'll take some doing. And as always, your mileage may vary.

But for now, I don't think so. Better to try getting your camcorder to perform that function.

Or pick up the Creative's LiveCam Optica AF webcam.

The A520 (and I guess all Powershot cameras with RemoteShooting capability) can be used as a webcam. You only need a screen capture software, like Camtasia Recorder from the Camtasia Studio and Canon's own software, Camerawindow -> Remote shooting. You only need to start these programs, enable the Liveoutput option in the Camtasia Recorder, place the capture frame over the Remoteshooting window and start recording.
