I am having trouble with a picture coming into focus when I am outside. The screen appears white. When I am inside it works fine. Help please.

My picture will sometimes come into focus outside if I turn the camera on and off several times

It sounds to me like you're having trouble with your white balance or perhaps the camera is set to an improper preset. Have you gone into the menu and reset the white balance to auto or outdoors? This may help. If it doesn't, I'd definitely get on the horn to Canon about returning it for repair or even replacing under RMA.
