Like its big brother the ZR950, the Canon ZR930 is a fairly basic entry-level digital camcorder. It pairs 1-megapixel widescreen 16:9 MiniDV video with a nice stabilized 48x advanced zoom lens to produce a versatile, usable beginner's camera. The camera explicitly caters to beginners with an "Easy Mode" that lets the camera choose the best possible settings for your current situation. Its large LCD screen swings 90 degrees horizontally, and rotates 270 degrees vertically, meaning you can always find a comfortable viewing angle. In all, this is a fine and inexpensive choice for getting started with videography.
