According to Canon USA, it'll be available in May 2009. As for price ... no word yet, but look for it around $300 or less, I'd expect.

As far as editing goes, you need your own video editing software. Recommend Adobe Premiere Elements, although your PC has Windows Movie Maker and your Mac has iMovie (which is perfect). No real restrictions other than you'll need to capture the software. I recommend WinDV.
