Unbiased camcorder reviews, advice, and prices

Camcorders using Media Cards

Most current camcorders have media card slots—the same kinds of cards like Secure Digital (SD) or Memory Stick used by digital cameras. What's confusing is that most use the media cards just for still digital images (you know, pictures). But some camcorders can record video to these cards. This is a great thing because the cards are so much more convenient than MiniDV tapes, although the biggest ones are only able to hold about 8GB of video, which is not that much. You'll need a few spare cards, but when it comes time to transfer to your computer, they are really convenient and fast.
