You bet. It comes with both USB and Firewire and it's just a matter of capturing the footage (WinDV is free and does a great job), editing it (I recommend Adobe Premiere Elements), and then burning it to DVD using the something like NERO.

HI,
This is the same person that asked if i can transfer video from my PV-DV953........... thanks so much for answering my question. You see, i tried and installed all the software it came with and it doesn't recognize the video feed... it shows the pics it has on the digital card, but thats it. Will the WinDV software help with that? or do you think i have driver problem?
Thanks again,

Most often than not, software that comes with your camera isn't very good. It's free "demo" software with limited capability. I usually just toss those CDs into the recycle bin because that's about all they're good for, IMHO.

WinDV should work just fine in capturing your footage. It won't control your camera, per se, but it should see it, and then you hit play on your camera and capture on WinDV. It should capture just fine.

As for editing, I would recommend Premiere Elements if you have Windows. Or, for MAC, use iMovie to do everything.

Good luck.
