The major difference is that the PV-GS300 is newer, and has better features. It's a full-on upgrade of the PV-GS150.
They both have 3 CCDs, which provides above-average video quality compared to single CCD camcorders, but the PV-GS300's sensor can also provide ~3 megapixel photos, opposed to the GS150's 1MP.
And right now, the GS300 looks to be somewhat cheaper. This is no contest, get the GS300
