As long as your Mac is intel based and you're got Leopard, you can plug in to USB and edit in iMovie directly. Otherwise, you just need to plug it in to USB, import the footage to the hard drive. And you may need to transcode it. I'd recommend MPEG Streamclip. But it's doable.
