Please help! Did you ever see this?

I purchased a Samsung HMX-H100 camcorder but after I opened it and checked the manual I noticed that it has a big issue: the menuin the camera is missing the "Storage type" function. This is where you set up where the footage will be recorded (either on internal hard drive or card).

In the manual this "Storage type" function is the first one under "Settings". In my camera's menu, on that exact page, there is no "Storage type" function. Nor on any other page or on the Quick menu. Therefore, I cannot setup where the storage goes, as it doesn't have one. I tried to record but it records only 2 seconds and then it says "Card full". Is there somewhere else to look for it? Thanks!

You need to insert your memory card. Often, menu items aren't available until you do. Then it should appear. BTW since you just opened it, go to Samsung.com and see if there's a firmware update for your camera. yours is only as new as teh day the camera was built. There may be a new update which addresses issues that have popped up since then.

Thanks James! That a great suggestion. I tried doing the same thing with AND without the card. It's still not showing. Is there a chance that the card would be defective?

Sure. It may be. Cards do corrupt. You can reformat it, see if that helps. But if it's on the small side and your shooting in full HD, you won't get a long duration. Still, two seconds? I'd try another card.
