Great camcorder for the average user
( - 3/29/06)Over the past 15 years I have gone from 8mm to VHS-c to a digital video camera, I have found the best yet with the Sony DVD-403.
The picture quality is excellant, the ease of use is excellant, and there are some great features like the touchscreen for playback controls.
Being able to pop the DVD into a pc or DVD player and play back is great, as is the ease of copying the DVD to send to grandma.
I love the DVD format for being able to quickly find particular scenes, and to look at what I have recorded, and not worry about finding the place where I stopped recording so I dont record over what I have already done.
The only downside is the difficulty editing what you have shot, but for most of us amateurs that is not such a big deal.
