Does the DCR SR80 have analog to digital pass through? If so, how does that work?

I'd like to connect an older analog camcorder to the DCR SR80. But I don't know what cable I would need or where to hook anything.

Yes it does. You hook up the camera via AC adapter, then hook the VCR to the analog in. Connect to PC via digital out. Hit play on the VCR. Hit capture in your video capture utility and there you go. (step by step on page 73 of the manual.

You'll need the RCA cables that come with your camcorder or VCR, and a USB cable that runs from your camera to the PC. I would recommend higher quality cables and not those cheapies that come with your gear, they're useless and practically unshielded. As such, you lose alot of the signal in transfer. Spend a little money and get some higher quality ones if you're going to be doing alot of them or the footage means alot to you.
