why does sr60 show better quality picture than sr80?

I focus both camcorders on the same subject and there is a glaring difference in the clearness of each camcorders.

That's a good question. They're essentially the same camera when it comes to the nuts and bolts circuitry of the CCDs, etc. Had I to guess, I'd say that perhaps the 80 was set to a longer play mode? Other than that, and all things being equal, it's a mystery to me.
