HD pocket camcorders are the big trend right now, but nothing beats a good, cheap, traditional camcorder, even if it is standard def. The Sony Handycam DCR-SX40 fits that bill and is currently the best-selling model on Camcorder HQ. It's easy to use and compact enough to take anywhere. This camcorder has 4GB of embedded memory, and also accepts Memory Stick Duo or PRO Duo removable media. It operates via a 1/8-inch advanced HAD CCD sensor, and has a professional Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with a full 60x optical zoom. Features include Face Index, One-Touch disk burning, a 2.7-inch rotating wide touch panel LCD display, and power-up upon opening the LCD.
