Black Screen

How I wish I had read this forum before wasting almost ��500 on this cam . My screen has now just gone black . If I had seen these posts I would never have entertained this cam . I used it rarely in 20 Mnths , only taking it out to film holidays etc . The warranty is now well up and I guess it's going into the bin . Even if it only cost ��50 to repair ( I'm expecting about ��200 ) , I still won't do it. This is the final straw for me with Sony . The customer care is appalling , and if your cam develops a fault , you're on your own . I simply can't find the words to express my anger at this . If anyone knows what the problem is , please post , so that I can decide whether to smash it up or hope it might repair itself . Cheers
