Can this cam act as a webcam for video calling thru Skype?

Skype is the "talk to anybody anywhere, Forever" deal. I'd like to do video calls to my relatives down under, and don't want to get a crumby webcam if I can use this cam with higher def, and not have to buy so many different pieces of equipment.
Thanks,
angie

From what I've read, you can use the SVideo plug, if you have a capture card built into your PC. You may also want to try DV Driver, which DVdriver lets you use your camcorder act as a webcam fooling Windows into thinking that your camcorder is just an ordinary USB webcam. Your mileage may vary.

Regarding using the HDR-SR1 as a web cam, would someone kindly provide a direct link to DV DRIVER. I tried the one above and it didn't work.

I have tried using my GeForce 7600 GS video card, but it turns out the S-video jack on my card in an OUTPUT. I need an INPUT. And of, course, the S-Video jack on the HDR-SR1 is also an OUTPUT.

Are any of you familiar with the AltoEdge USB Video Capture Device (http://www.altoedge.com/usbcapture/index.html)? Although it looks good, upon closer inspection, it appears that it requires an S video input on the camcorder. My camcorder has ONLY these connections: A/V out, component out, HTML out, DC power in, microphone power in and the USB cable connection, which does not appear to work in Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

I think I may have to install a TV card inside the computer capable of taking direct input from the camcorder.

ANY AND ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOMED (especially brand names of relevant TV cards)!
