Top Quality, Nice Features
(Jim - 10/20/09)I owned an XTi and gave it away. Then I bought the Xsi. A totally good and different camera. Long battery life -recently on a trip to Ireland I snapped 686 photos and still had half the battery light showing. It uses the SD card which is smaller that the XTi card and is now available at cheap prices. I added a Tamron 18-205 VC lens - now it is everything I want. The exposures were perfect, color is perfect, focusing is perfect. I took great photos inside dark Cathedrals. I made several 360 degree pano shots and stitched them with the included software. Speaking of software, Canon has some highly professional software bundled with the XSi. You can process till your heart is content. You have color temperature variations, you can change the RGB my moving a dot/dots on a diagonal graph - process RAW or JPG. I have made some very artistic photos with the nice software. You cannot go wrong with this outstanding camera. There are more expensive cameras with more speed, larger format, higher ISOs, but I think for what you get with the XSi it is the best camera on the market.
