Are lenses from different manufacturers cross referenced with Canon lenses?

I am trying to find a chart that lists which lenses are compatible for the Canon EOS XSi 450D 12.2 megapixel. I am obviously a beginner but I can't learn unless I ask. I don't have any idea where to start looking. I already have a Canon S5 IS and I want to purchase a flash attachment that will work with both cameras....are there any brands that would work just as good as a Canon or better but at a cheaper price? Is there a website that has this information?

Hi Steve, I attempted to find the information I needed but this website will not allow you to register using a free email address such as yahoo, hotmail, or gmail they only allow you to register if you have an email from a paid email service. I couldn't register therefore I couldn't access this website.
Thanks for trying.

Hi Steve,
I attempted to sign up for an email account through onlineni.net but the website would not allow me to. I'm not sure why but I couldn't even get the sign up page. I thought that possibly since this is a service for Northern Ireland that they would not allow someone with IP address in the USA to use it.
Thanks again for trying.
