On the 20D can you reduce the timer countdown and eliminate the beep?

This question has replies but the author has not yet indicated whether it's answered after a long time. Can you answer the question, or post a clarifying follow-up?

I'm not sure about the beep, but you can change the timer to be either 2 or 10 seconds. You can probably turn off the over all sound, and maybe just adjust the beep somewhere under menu, but I'm not positive if you can.
