QUEST 4 CAMERAS IS A SCAM!!!! DON'T ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE A FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!!

Where do you get the information out that Quest 4 Cameras is a scam company? They hung up on me 3 times and could not "find" the order even though the internet says they have it available. I was also passed into voicemail as well as put on hold forever. Don't order from these scam artists!

If you paid by Credit Card, and I hope you did, then you should get the credit card company involved. Have them charge back the purchase. Explain to them that you suspect a scam and you have been unable to get satisfaction. They will be behind you and I bet you get noticed then.

Just cancelled my order from Quest4Camera.com as well. Bad service and they misled me. I wanted to order 4 digital projectors to donate to my local elementary school. Budgets are tight and I have a 3rd kid about due any day. So I thought I'd save a few bucks and order 4 refurb units. Every other vendor I've gone to local and online, has been upfront with pricing. Quest4Camera wanted me to call them back and confirm my order and so I did. The sales person tried to sell me another 4 bulbs at $150/each at a discount. Well, if I had known the refurbs came without bulbs (and therefore are not working units w/o them) I'd have priced the value differently. And this wasn't conspicuous on their website. When I asked the service guy to check for himself, since I was already online and looking, he said he didn't have time and so I had to cancel the order. I called back on the different 800-number on their website, and got a different sales person who then verified, yes, they don't come with bulbs unless they say so. I said that was a first for me, and I work in IT and have purchased lots of projectors before and own 3 myself at my two homes. The sales guys then said that he had 167 calls waiting and asked me what I wanted to do about this. I asked him about the new model Sanyo PLC-XW55 which had been available just a while before and says it includes a bulb, but he quickly fired off that those were out of stock. That was incredibly fast for checking. Anyway, I called my credit card company to flag that online merchant as a potential fraud problem and made sure they cancelled that charge.

Quest 4 Cameras is a SCAM. I am not kidding. This is not a joke. Do not order from them! I wanted to purchase a Tokina 11-16 Ultra wide angle lens for my Canon EOS 40D camera. They advertised the price as $485, which is about $115 lower than all other competitors. I placed my order thinking all is well and then the next day I get a phone call from a rep stating that the lens I just purchased was for the Japanese version- not American. Meaning that mechanically the Japanese version is made for cameras that are made in Japan, and that the American version was for cameras that were made for America. These are incompatible with each other, not to mention that the symbols and language would be in Japanese and not in English. So, anyhow, the rep says that if I want the lens to fit my American version, the price is $599! I said, But it doesn't say anything in the ad about being made for the Japanese version. The rep insisted that this information was included in the ad. I went back to the website and I still did not see anything about two different versions of lenses. The bottom line is I paid the $599, but only because I need this lens for my work and all other companies have been out of stock for weeks. I feel misled, betrayed, and angry over yet another capitalist company screwing over the average Joe through unscupulous guerrilla marketing. I am almost tempted to get a class -action lawsuit against these @#$%! I mean come on! This company is in New York. I am in California. The ad is in English. And there is no inference or reference of a Japanese version of this lens, let alone a $115 price difference. If I had done my research and come across this website, I would have never placed the order. I am going to formally file a complaint with Consumer Affairs and BBB if they belong.

I'm ready to file agaist those guys. I'm in te process of gathering information. If any one else was mislead, please record and gather informatio as much as you can.

This company sounded a lot like a company that I tried to do business with 2 years ago when I bought my EOS 20D. Well, it is-but it is under a different name. I checked the addresses and they are the same. Evidently, this company has to periodically change names. From reading the description of the "customer service agent", it sounds like the same guy. I ended up refusing delivery on my order and sent it right back to their business (so that they could not say that it was delivered.)

I learned that it is work shelling out a few extra hundred dollars to avoid fly by night companies like this.

Had the exact same experience as Brande Kramer. I was also told that it all said in the ad that the camera was the Japanese version, even though, obviously, it didn't state that. WEnt through the same run around, and had to return the purchase, they charged me the shipping charges and the restocking fee (bastards!).Never using them again.
I'm appalled that they're a US based company. Probably run by some immigrant who keep going back in forth illegally brining this stuff into the country.

Unfortunately, I'm reading this after ordering from them too....
After ordering a new projector for the church, they emailed me to call their customer service, where they said the web page model was a wholesale version without bulb ($728) and a retail version with a bulb was ($849), what did I want?
I needed this unit, I was already delayed because of another web based outfit, Butterfly Photo, bait and switch bull$hit.

NEVER EVER BUY FROM Quest4Cameras

This is the very first time I'm faced with such an unscrupulous and crooked merchant. It is text-book example of a "bait and switch" operation.

I bought a JVC Everio GZHD7 camcorder because Quest4Cameras price was about $30 lower than other online shops. I got an email the next day saying I had to call customer service to confirm mailing address. I talked to a store representative who confirmed the address and right away started asking if I wanted an extra battery or lens. I said no. He then said that the camera I bought was not the USA version but the Chinese version. I'm not sure such versions are produced by JVC. He said the Chinese version had the user manual written in Chinese only and if I had any problems with the camera I had to ship overseas to obtain warranty service. He also said it was in my interest to buy the extra battery because the one shipped with the product was a demo battery good for 25 min of recording only. I said no again and I told him I was going back to Quest4Cameras website to look at what other differences existed between both versions of the camera. He then said that they only display the Chinese version in the website, not the USA version of it. I told him I was going to look anyway. At this moment the salesman was getting rude and almost hangs up on me.

When you go to the website there are no notes indicating the battery is a demo battery. It does not say anything about a manual written in Chinese only or Chinese service center only for warranty.

I called again and cancelled the order. Not before telling the salesman about the lack of information in the website. The guy got rude and told the me the order was cancelled and hanged up. By the way, the only way to cancel an order is to call them.

I would never buy from those people. Be very careful when buying from them.

I bought the camera from B&H Photo. Excellent service!

I do a lot of online shopping and this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I placed an order and the next day received a phone call where the sales person tried to sell me everything under the sun. Then he tells me that the camera I purchased will be in Chinese. This includes the manual and all of the on screen functions. When I asked questions he became VERY rude and unprofessional. I asked where this was disclosed and was told it was on the "about us page". Guess what, he could not show me read the exact spot where it stated this. I then cancelled my order. Make sure you get a cancellation number. I then was so mad I called the customer service number. The person had the same bad attitude. I have never been so upset about an online shopping experience. Buyer Beware!

DITTO..........QUEST 4 CAMERAS IS A COMPLETE SCAM! Bait and switch/false advertising all the way! I ordered a GPS on line and received a call from Q4C asking me if i wanted to buy the data card with the street maps on it. I quickly reminded the sales person that the website clearly stated the data card 'preloaded with all maps' was included in the box. He said "I just cancelled your order" and hung up on me! RUN AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!

Are you all sure this is not Prestige Camera, http://www.prestigecamera.com/ aka Preferrred Photo, Broadway Photo, A&M Photoworld, Digital Liquidators,Regal Camera,Cameratopia,Tronicity,Ghu, LLC.

This is a very shady typical NY City scam!
I was totally ripped off by this scam as well as
the fine print credit card scam of buying outside your home range(typ 100miles)
So I guess the only way to fight these scammers is hope that the next planes that
fly into buildings there, fly into theirs!!

... bottom line... there's no free lunch!!! If you see a price way below the price you see in other sites, it means that something fishy has to be there. Better go with the best option you find in the range of similar prices. I can tell you this because... me too... I got scamed by Quest4cameras.com... I just hope you can spare the headache!!
