What is the best settings for canon 30d with 72mm for indoor portraits

Whats the best settings for 28-135mm lens for indoor portraits using a 3 light set up (Main, fill & backlight)> Only one female dark-skinned subject. Should I use additional flash?

If you have a 3 light setup, it probably isn't necessary to shoot with flash, however, the pros do. So I'd try both and use what works best. Id' also trust your camera's light meter, and bracket around it.

I find when I am doing portraits that it helps if I can focus manually on the eyes. Often if I just use the autofocus it ends up focusing on the nose, or other parts of the body. The eyes are what really makes a portraits stand out. Also be careful to make sure that there is light falling into the eyes so they don't appear too dark.
