Canon EOS 50D Vs. Nikon D90?

Hi, I'm considering buying the Canon 50D (as till today I have been using Canon Cameras) - but was advised the D90 is a better all around camera - any thoughts?

It's a horse race, really. Both are outstanding platforms. If you're using Canons in the past, and your lenses are EF compatible, then I'd stick with Canon because you'll be able to use those lenses with the new body. But Nikon has a 50 year lens legacy where most of those lenses, even back to the film days, can be used. So if it doesn't matter, I'd go Nikon. But if you already have Canon lenses, the choice is pretty prudent to stick with your platform.
