How did you determine the ranking before the camera was placed in use by user's

I am rather surprised at the ranking's of both the new G10 and 5D MK II since neither of these have been released yet and after seeing some of the camera's that you rated better I am even more surprised. I base this on having had 2 5D's and in addition the G9 which I thought was a superb point and shoot back up to my 5D and I can't wait to obtain the new G10 and new 5D MK II.

Sorry, there was a glitch in the system, for some reason the camera got rated, though its not supposed to have a rating since it was released. I also do agree with you, the G10 and 5D MK II are going to be two amazing cameras, and I'm interested how the 5D MK II will compare to some other new cameras, like the D3 from Nikon and the A900 from Sony. Anyway, we'll get that fixed, sorry for the error.

Yes, I'm sorry about this. The rankings are generated automatically, based on the average user review ratings and several other factors. Naturally, we don't have such information for new or unreleased cameras, so the rankings as displayed are not valid, and should not be visible. What you're seeing as the ranking right now is the result of a dearth of information. The ranking box shouldn't been seen in this case, and we'll make sure it won't be in the future.
