The wrap on the 5D seems to be it's speed. From what I've read, photographers seeking a burst mode of faster than the 5Ds three photos per second are greatly disappointed in losing that key sports shot. As such, the faster 1D bodies seem to be specifically designed for rapid-fire sports situations.
