I dropped my camera just as a opened it and it has a zoom error, how do I fix it?

I literally just opened my camera, put batteries in, put it on my lap and it fell onto the floor. The zoom lens is stuck out of the camera, and the screen says "Lens Error, restart camera." I tried taking the batteries out for a few minutes and nothing happened. It won't let me access any menus or anything. Please help

Ouch. That bites. Try cycling the camera on/off several times to see if the camera lens will work it's way free as it has become misaligned. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you'll have to send it in for repair.

that happened to me so me and my father took the camera apart and fixed it and now it works but i will warn you it is complicated it took us 2 hours to fix it. however i wouldnt really recommend taking it apart but hey it worked for me.
