I am currently using the Kodak C713, want to upgrade for this camera is this a good choice or not?

I am currently using the Kodak C713, want to upgrade for this camera, main use is to take pictures at sporting events, like Pirate games and NASCAR races. I want to get quality pictures but this C713 keeps letting me down. If this isn't the choice what is?

Canon makes great point and shoot cameras for capturing the moment, but for baseball and NASCAR? I don't think so. Not enough zoom unless your right on the field level. But just about any compact point and shoot would be found lacking. Point and shoots are largely for kodak moments, group shots, etc. Actual sports photography requires a longer zoom and much faster lens. Check out the G9 or G10, Panasonic TZ3. Compact, but with far better features. Popular choices as backup cameras for professionals.
