What is the shape of this camera? How would you rate it with the top IS cameras?

Is it a good camera for intermediate picture taking person? How would you rate the clarity with the A720 IS? Is it a good camera to buy or should I look for another

I'm not sure what you mean by the shape... it is slightly bigger than the A720, but it is one of the newer flagship A series models, so it is probably the best A camera you can find. As far as intermediate picture taking... I would try and bump up to the SD, S5, or G9 series in Canon, they offer a lot more options.
