Can you adjust the brightness of the flash?

Is it possible to adjust the brightness of the flash in the Powershot A2000 or the SX110?

Sort of, but not manually. Some of the newer cameras tend to adjust the power of the flash which adjusts the brightness depending on the ambient lighting, but this is usually only a small correction. To my knowledge, you can't do anything manually.

Nope. Sorry. What you can do, however, is to take a white plastic film canister and cut it to fit over it. Then you can diffuse the harshness of the flash.
