Which is better? canon A1000 IS or Canon SD1100 IS?

My first digital camera was a Canon A60. I have been reading alot of reviews about some of these cameras and am not sure which one would best fit me. I like the idea of motion detection, digic III, and image stabilization. All I really want is to be able to go to watch Motocross and not miss the jumps cause my camera is to slow, without going to a SLR Pro camera. Someone please help me in my delimma.

hello anq
the camera i would choose for motorcross is the panasonic lumix tz5
it has a great fast lens and 10x optical zoom
look at Benoit Werner's photostream of motocross pictures taken by a panasonic tz3 which uses the same lens as the tz5

thanks Steve, I went to flickr.com and saw the pics, however those are all outside. What about inside an arena with low light? I don't want to seem like a tard but that is not the only reason I want to take pics. I don't want to get into alot of fuss when I want to take a picture. want ease with power. sound to greedy?
