Damaged Card Pins

Have had my PowerShot A300 two years and now the memory card pins are damaged. It's 50/50 whether the camera will accept the card. Plus, it's too long of a wait between shots and using the zoom button causes the picture to be blurry, even from short distances. I'm ready to give this one to the kids and buy another brand!
