Whenever I try to take a photo now, the screen just appears entirely black. How can I fix this?

It's not because I've hit the Display button... And it takes photos that come out all black as well. I've tried switching the batteries, turning it on and off, hitting the display button and taking videos.

This sounds like a problem with the sensor in the camera. You can try using Canon's support site, but the price might be just as high as a new camera if your warranty has run out. Good luck.
