I have a Canon PowerShot A400, and get horrible red eye...any suggestions for dealing with this problem?

I take lots of pictures of my kids, and just can't get rid of red eye. Or if I get rid of red eye, pictures turn out dark, or blurry. I would appreciate any help to solve this problem, or suggestions for good cameras under $300 that don't have the red eye problem.

You can edit out red-eye from your Canon A400 by either setting your flash to "red-eye reduction mode" or by editing your photos later with photomanipulation software like PaintShop Pro or Photoshop. Although PhotoShop is widely used and versatile, it can be expensive. PaintShop pro is less expensive (downloadable for $100) and very user friendly.
