Installing Software

I recently purchased this camera. But are having trouble installing the software that came with it. I put the disc in, it starts but stops ans says that the zoom browser was not installed properly. That I need to uninstall and begin installation again. I have done this but still the same screen comes up. I purchased the computer in 2004 and dont really know if I have Windows XP or Windows 2000. Can anyone help me?

Not your fault, Leonelle. Kodak's software is bloated junkware. Plain and simple. Do yourself a favor and toss it into the garbage. Then, for file transfer and photo management, download and install Picasa 2 by Google. It's an awesome and free program.

Now, I'm sure you're asking yourself, great, but I can't get my pictures unless I connect my camera, right? Wrong. Invest in a $10 USB memory card reader and simply take your card out and plug it in. The PC will read it as a drive and it's a simple drag and drop to get your pictures onto the PC for editing and printing. Much better than trying to trouble shoot driver issues and crappy software.
