More likely, your settings are all out of wack. Try resetting the camera. Also, prefocus while your shooting your pictures. You do this by pressing the shutter button down half way. That will lock the focus down, then you can recompose your picture and press the button the rest of the way. If the subject moves, remove your finger then prefocus again. This will also allow you to cut down on shutter lag.

Also, in those bright conditions, you may want to try the beach or snow preset. This will gear the camera towards faster shutter speeds and aperture settings.

If all that doesn't help, then you may need to send it in for servicing.

Then I would assume that your CCD has failed and you'll need to send it in for repair. But understand that the average cost of a camera repair is around $180. As such, it may cost more to repair than it is really worth. The rule of thumb is that if the estimate for repair is north of 50% what you paid for it, you're better off taking that money and buying a newer and upgraded model.

btw ... I'm not sure you are aware, but when TYPING MESSAGES IN UPPER CASE LIKE THIS, that is considered yelling on the Internet. I'm sure you didn't mean to do that as it's probably just convenient to you, but it can easily be interpreted that way.
