I have a 'memory card error' on a 2Gb disk.

The disk was removed from my Canon A530 for the first time in 2 years to be read on another camera. The memory was almost full at the time. Now will not read at all on any camera - or, so far, any computer. Help!

I'd try reformatting it. But if you haven't gotten your pictures off yet, try a file recovery utility like F-recovery. You can use it to recover your disk and get back your images. Then I would format over it all again. Or, better yet, once you get your pictures, toss it. Memory cards are cheap enough now that there's no need to mess with a failing card.
