I have an A590 IS with 2GB memory card but after 10 photos, I get "memory full". How can I get more photos with my memory card?

Reformat the card and see if that helps.

Are you shooting at really high resolution? Go into the menus and check to see what resolution your photos are set to. They'd have to be pretty big to fill up a card that size that quickly, but this camera's res. goes all the way up to 3264 x 2448. If you're set at that, try setting it lower; 2048 x 1536 or lower would be good for most situations, depending on if you want to print (and how large).

Brenda P: You could take pictures the size of billboards and not use up a 2gb card in 10 pictures! At the highest quality setting, a MINIMUM of 600 pics or so.

If reformatting the card didn't help, you probably bought a cheap card at the markets that in fact is a fake large capacity card. Unscrupulous people can format a 32MB card to make it look larger to your camera, but then will fill in next to no time. The same applies to USB memory keys. My recommendation is only by properly branded memory products from dealers you can trust (and return goods to ).

My 2 cents is, you are apparently saving the photos directly to the camera not the SD card. A bad card or bad connection could do that. I shoot every day and I can shoot in raw 10mb per shot and get 185 frames per 2gb card. You may have something very wrong happening!

Pentaxfan, canon cameras don't have memory on board. If you don't have space on the memory card (or don't have a card) you can't take shots at all.

Martin V not to argue but I do have an older version of this camera and the new a590 has 32mb flash memory built in to the camera. It is plenty to record 10 images. for full specs if you doubt my knowledge go to:
