Does the A590 IS have a "burst mode" or something similar to take fast, action shots? I take lots of pics of motorcycles on the track. Best setting?

Just want to get the best picture for motorcycle track action. I am about to purchase this camera after doing a lot of research.

What are the best settings you would suggest in sunny conditions to capture this kind of action?

Does the A590 IS have a burst mode or something similar?

Burst mode varies from 1 frame per second to 1.46 fps. --- Depends on resolution selected--- Not that great, but typical for that price range.

For a bit more money, you can get a Panasonic Lumix FX-48 (over $300) that has a 10 fps mode.

A frame per second should be pretty good performance for something in this price range and, unless you want to buy a DSLR, should be satisfactory. It helps that you're shooting in bright sun, because the thing that would slow your camera down the most would be recovery time, and bright light means that you won't have to deal with flash, so your camera should recover pretty darn quickly. Don't worry about waiting for review of each photo you take. Just keep clicking. This camera should keep up pretty well. The newer Canons are fast performers.

The settings you use will largely depend on your distance away from the action as well as the lighting of the day. Look for sports mode (or use a fast shutter speed) to try to freeze action.
