do the red and black cables for the backlight need to be soldered when replacing the lcd

Am replacing a busted lcd on Canon a 590 is. Have all parts, have camera apart, can re-insert LCD ribbon, but not sure about how to connect red and black back light cables. Look like they need to be soldered.

This is something you really need to seek a professional to do. If you don't want to go to Canon directly, then I'd suggest these guys: AFFORDABLE CAMERA REPAIR AND CRACKED LCD SCREEN REPLACEMENT
