You have a couple options. First, before you take the photo, you have to go into the menu and tell the camera to apply a datestamp. It will not appear on the photo if this is not done before you take it. Your next option is to put the picture in a program like Adobe Photoshop or most other programs will work also. Then, you will have to manually type the date in a text box. There is no way to make a datestamp appear on a photo that has already been taken.

Sorry - I don't have the booklet anymore for my camera. When I go to the menu it doesn't give me an option to date stamp. Where else can I look?

Unfortunately, not all cameras have a datestamp function. I have noticed this problem especially with the Sony W series. I am not sure about this camera. As far as your maual, http://alpha02u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900

By using softwares, it is possible to auto extract the date when a picture is taken and insert it on the picture before printing. You need not type the date and time manually as suggested.

To understand how this works (automatically of course )

Goto the site
http://www.batchphoto.com/add-data-picture.html to see the details.

Alternatively you may try
http://avpsoft.com/products to download a demo version of TimeToPhoto 1.5. It still works but with a 30 day limit.

Personally I prefer TimeToPhoto. At $19.95 it is a good buy if you need to use it often.
