so far so good
( - 5/10/06)Most users are pleased with this camera, so i will just summarise what i see as its pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Twisty LCD is very useful.
2. SD cards meant i did not have to spend more on new card system (Sony take note!)
3. AA type batteries ditto (i use NMH rechargeables). Battery life is very good even with flash. Downside on this is that it is heavier than average compact, and it does use 4 rather than 2. Always have a spare set, as camera gives no warning, just dies when the batteries are exhausted.
cons:
1. Zoom is very noisy and lens is not particulary good: pictures are quite soft at the high end of the zoom.
2. LCD display is the worst i have ever had: unreadable except in dark or indoors. useless in daylight. It has less pixels than my 3 yr old kodak. clearly canon economised here.
3. Strangely the camera will not work in My Colors when the lcd is closed. It works in all the other programs: perhaps this is a fault with mine?
