Stuck iris - second problem with it.

First problem due to me "dropping it" - i disputed that but paid for repair. Now iris is stuck according to canon technician. Will cost me again. Total cost of repairs will be more than a new camera. Camera has not worked for more time than it has worked and warranty now expired. Fed up. Any suggestions

Well, you could try to respectfully make the argument that they didn't fix it the first time. But if it's sat in a drawer for awhile, they may deny that claim. If it's going to cost more than a new camera, then your option is clear. Rule of thumb is that if it costs 50% or more of the sale price to fix it, you're much better off getting a new one that will give you more bang for the buck.
